    Default Raymarine and sidecan

More competition for sidescan technology, something that at one time was the exclusive domain of Humminbird.
Navico (Lowrance/Simrad), Garmin, and now Raymarine. No more patent infringements?

I will have to agree with you. I have the latest everything from Lowrance and this is what I'm going to stay with.
Not a big user of sidescan, but I do find down scan useful.
I have a Raymarine auto pilot, and that's as far as I will go with that brand. Lowrance just announced an auto pilot that will interface with the HDS units.

Whether you buy the latest technology or not, competition is good for everyone. It lowers pricing, makes companies refine and improve the quality of their product BEFORE they put it out on the market and it gives us all more choices when it's time to buy.

If you're happy with your current setup and it meets your needs, then you've made a good investment.

I hope they are targeting the guys with a tighter wallet. I don't see anything special with their pictures. They should look at hiring a different marketing manager, because I have to screw up my HB to get pictures that grainy.

last I read it was ONIX times three, one HDS9, and one of the new Garmin SI/DI units. The Raymarine should fit right in. But who's counting (?)!!!!!!
I was using three HDS units, but that was overkill. Settled on the HDS12 and HDS9. That's more than enough for my needs.
