I was a chef for 26 years. I have a degree in culinary arts from New England Culinary Institute. I worked for hotels, resorts along the Atlantic coast, casinos, and owned 2 restaurants back in the 90's. I got burned out on the crazy life and realized there are better ways to make a living and enjoy life. I am now in school for process technology. I should graduate next spring.

life is crazy sometimes.....my stepson has a degree from LSU in Environmental science...tried that for a while then went back and got a degree in Law...tried that for about 8 years.....now he lives in New Orleans and has a catering company and an open air café in the French Market.....he works harder than he ever has but loves what he is doing......just the opposite from your experience......
