So did I....Doug Nelms was in my office yesterday talking to a WRD biologist and they have been hearing scuttlebutt about people wanting a min size on oconee....He asked them.."are the crappie not big enough?"...OH NO>>> they replied ...they're pretty big....NUFF said he thought.....Why mess with a good thing??? Who knows..leave the big ones,....take out the small...no leave the small .....I just know that the quality of the Oconee Crappie is way up there!!!!

I hope you guys have better luck than we did in tn. We talked to them about raising ours on a few lakes and they said they arent trying to make trophy lakes. We asked them why they were putting florida strain bass in one of the lakes , to this they had no reply.

I think the main reason is because they are never going to have the resources to enforce it!

They will enforce what they think is important, or at least an easy ticket anyway.

It will not work. Study after study shows this. To many small fish!! I have read 25 articles or more about this. A very good friend of mine is a fisheries bio., and he has study crappie for over 20+ yrs. it just won't work. Go to Grenada or Talquin. If you think people who own places on Sinclair or Oconee are going to throw back 9 3/4 inch fish. Yeah right. Good luck! I'm opposed to this. Have a good day!!
