I like the thought, but what do you do with a gut hooked dink? Maybe should start with a some test Lakes like maybe Lanier, Sinclair, Blackshear and that would cover several regions.

I'm split in my opinion, you all make a good point but I can't help but think of the bank fisherman who can't always get to the over 10"fish on all lakes. Some lakes don't have enough bank fishing available to anglers for them to have the best pickings so while you are polling keep this kind of guy in mind. Has anyone ever heard of a size limit for boat fishing and bank fishing to be different for the same body of water ? Just a thought. I personally like my crappie 11" and up

If they enforced this then the bank fisherman could start catching some filleting size fish instead of a bunch of bones after it has been in effect for awhile and helped the lake size come up. We keep complaining about Sinclair and this and that lake and so on. The buck has to stop somewhere, it has been said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expect a different result. If we want change then we have to change. We cannot keep harvesting the seed fish and expect a big size to be acheived like other lakes have. Bank fisherman can catch fish too, they have to not be lazy and put them some structure where they are fishing. They can take some brush with them and throw out there on each fishing trip they take. Before long they have them a little honey hole. We get out of it what we all put into it. Size limit works, I have fished lakes with them and it is proven. I know others may have different opinions and that is okay, can't help it they are wrong. (lol)

I agree it is not just a size limit that will make our lakes better, but it will be the best and least expensive step for our DNR who already are on limited funds. Bank fisherman/women don't seem to have a problem with size limits on bass that they keep either..........just saying. Kind of like the guy busted with a cast net and a box full of spoiled fish in his vehicle. Making the change and enforcing it is key. There are more bank fishing and fishing piers and handicap accessible on most of GA's lakes now then there were 10 years ago.

I am all for a size limit and let reduce the daily dlimit as well. But without DNR enforcement its all a moot point. Not on all lakes but several spread thoughout the state.

The fact is that DNR will never do this. We all know this.

True statement, they can't police the daily limit now, to bad.
The best thing though is the majority of us impose a size limit on ourselves and don't keep short fish unless they are dead or will die. I don't keep a limit normally, I get to fish plenty and just keep enough for cooking fresh. So I am not sure who is hurting the big fish more, the guy that only fishes a few times a year and keeps anything with eyes or the guy that fishes 100 times/year with super electronics and keeping fish 10 inches and up,and limits out every time.

I agree with this 100%. I travel the extra distance to fish out of state because of the higher possibility of larger quality fish. Would be great to fish Lake Blackshear with the same hopes. My 2 cents.

Y'all have it in reverse, everything over 12 is released, under keep. After a few years there will be a bunch of studs in there. Have to be careful what you ask for and every lake is different. Within 75 miles of me are 4 of the best lakes in the nation and they all 4 are different animals and honestly need to be managed as so. This won't happen but it would be good.
