    Default Painted Cranks

I found a new source for some unpainted crankbaits out of China and ordered a few of them in different sizes. Now to see how they run. At $1 each I'm gonna order and paint a bunch of them if they run good.
The crankbait in the center is a Bandit 300. I really like the looks of the style on the left.

You never know how they'll run. They had two weights and rattles inside them and they were supposedly tank tested but that's not the same as "lake tested". I've got 3 different styles to lake test before I order more.

These are some of the Chinese cranks we have been running. The bottom row is the same as ScottV shows in his post, the top row are the C55s that are slightly larger than a 300 and run deeper. We have ordered a bunch of these cranks and so far, all have run true out of the box. One thing about it, you can put something in front of the fish that they are not likely to have seen.

That's great to know mrdux. I love the looks of the C549 baits but I wasn't gonna paint many of them until I saw how they ran. Did you paint those or are they factory painted?

So far I've just ran the C549 on dropper rods. I haven't ran them out behind the boat. I would think they would be the cat's arse for pushing.

rnvinc has bought a few of every one of their blanks and I've painted several to try. There is a larger one in the blanks that is quite a bit bigger than the C55. I personally have not ran it.

The one I pictured in the upper right is the C187. It's a good looking bait. It's just hard to find an unfinished bait that runs good. I got some baits from Jann's Netcraft one time that looked identical to the Bandit 200. I painted 15 of them and when I pulled them behind the boat they spun in circles. I learned my lesson after that. I'll just paint a couple before I test them. Lol
