    I put a Baystar system on my Alweld. It's rated to 150HP. I did the install myself, so it can't be too difficult. Like it a lot more than cable steering.

    I just talked to Joe Shurden in Starkville and he said he could fix me up. His total price would be less than these Meridian jack legs wanted for parts. The motor has to be removed to replace the cables so its not a job I want to try.

    Watch this video and order the kit dpisani posted above. It's what I have and you will wonder how you ever made it without hydraulic steering.

    Thanks Chaney but I've already left my boat with Joe Shurden in Starkville to replace my rack and pinion double cables. My total bill should be around $600 and coupled with my home air conditioner work, my wallet is getting thin. I appreciate the input everybody's given me though. I did learn one lesson, don't try to deal with these idiots in Meridian.
