    Default Milford 6-8-14

Another great day of fishing. More neighbors got their fishing licenses this morning and we hit the lake to try this fishing thing out. It's all the rage in our neighborhood lately! Today a husband/wife/daughter combo with my little girl helping me guide.

We caught a ton of white bass (fun to catch for our new outdoorsmen/women!) Some wipers, channel cats, smallies bit the nightcrawlers. Put in at State Park Marina where the walleye tourney was weighing in. Think I saw Shane's truck, but missed him. Hope it went good, looked like a big turnout. All fish went back to finish growing up! Someday soon I'm just going to hit the crappie, even if the new guys go, they'll just have to bear with me while I look for them again. Brad

Its great that you are helping new people get out and enjoy fishing.
They could have saved some money for their first time out this weekend.
June 7 & 8 was a free fishing weekend in both Kansas & Missouri.
Of course if they enjoyed it. They would have purchased a license for the rest of the year anyway.

Looks like a great time! Darn, I saw you at the ramp too when we were pulling out for the weigh in. Wish I would've stopped by to say hello. Sounds about like us this weekend. So many wipers and small channels/Blues and even a few flatheads while pulling for Walleye. Still a fun time out there though.

It went well, well for some people anyways. LOL No, we caught a lot of fish, mostly wipers and small cats, but we did find a 4.5lb walleye on Saturday and then a 5.5 on Sunday. Had one other keeper on Sat that was right at 18 and before we went in he had shrunk, so back in the water he went. We were amazed he had shrunk within about 30 minutes. Saturday the winning weight was just shy of 26lbs and a winning weight of 32lbs on Sunday. Big fish for the weekend was an 8.9 that was caught on Sunday as well as another 8 caught on Sunday as well as a few 7's as well.

I really enjoy fishing the lake as I great up fishing it, just wish it was closer for us as I'm down here in Valley Center now. Hope to get up there at least one more time this year to fish it.
