Default Not So Crappy Sammich And Report

We were on the water at just daylight this morning. Caught our first fish right off the bat. Thinking it was gonna be good but the bite was slow. I think we have overfished some of these brush piles. Time to drop some new wood. Which happens to be the plan for tomorrow. We already have a good supply made up. I told Ray this morning that we were not keeping any fish today. I am tired of cleaning. After we were there for a while Ray ask if we could keep enough for lunch to make a sandwich, so I agreed to that. The pictures are the six we kept and the sammich. We will do our brush drop tomorrow and be done for this week. Start back next week on some new piles.

Butch, postsprawn is my favorite time to fish. The wind hardly ever gives you a problem the first couple of hours after day light there is no one else on the lake and the fish on these brush piles are willing to bite most everyday. To me you just can not beat that.

I'm with you polepusher. It's a GREAT time to be fishing. Just get there at daylight and you have the whole lake to yourself until about 10AM or so. That's 4 hours of good fishing! On weekends that's when the pontoons and jet skis start up but usually it's usually hot enough now and youve caught enough fish anyway to call it a day.

Im in with you brother, post spawn, aggressively feeding fish, limited competition, it truly doesn't get any better than that. Thanks for the pics and report. That meal looks might tasty, I think I'll be doing fish for dinner as well.

Nice report. I love fish sandwiches, we have been eating a lot of them this year with hamburger buns. I agree with you that this is a good time to fish.
