... we mighta coulda taken 2nd place, if one of our bigger fish hadn't died on us before we weighed in

for sure ... but, with us being only 0.28lbs from 2nd place, I believe the big male that died would have weighed that much more than the smallest "live" one that we did weigh.

Just a lesson learned ... take care to keep your fish alive, especially during the warm water tourney periods. We "fizzed" that fish, chemically treated the water, cooled the water some, and kept the recirc pump on to aerate the livewell water ... and it still died.

Almost makes me want to shorten the Taylorsville tourney hours

hey Pappy, why not change the rule? Most fish are going to be fileted anyway.

I just hate to change the rule (shorten the time) when we're so close to the tournament date. But, if this tourney series continues ... that's a worthy idea for consideration IMHO.

I'm thinking along the lines of 6AM - 12Noon for any tourney scheduled after May. The only problem I see with that, though, is that it might keep some people from participating in the tourneys ... seeing as how the crank pullers prefer the hotter days/hours.

I have to consider, also, what Chucky said about the fish dying ... that, when in a tourney, you don't keep more than a tourney limit in your livewell ... especially during hot weather, and when bringing fish up from deep water so quickly.

I bought a balance scale just for the sole purpose of using it to cull the lighter fish, starting with fish #8 ... I just hope I have to use it

Matt and me were talking about that also, pretty tough when you bring them up from the deep. We used a lot of ice and recirc... I'm sure that's part of it for tourneys but new to me. I had a great time and wish the fish we were catching a few weeks ago had got the schedule. (AND MAYBE THEY DID! ;()

    Good job to all!!!
