rickie,I agree with what your saying about the sonar has to be running for it to be recorded,but this is my 998 and I though that I had a 83khz simulator recording before the new update.The Simulator is nothing more than a "live recording" someone at HB performed on the water...
It is then hard coded into the unit....
If whoever made that recording did not have the 83kHz running during the recording...then there will be no data for the 83kHz channel to "play back" in the Simulator...
We can do the same thing with our HB recordings...
When I record I turn off the 83kHz channel...simply to have less data for the Humviewer playback...(but that's another story)...
Why the 83kHz channel was turned off for the ONIX Simulator recordings...we can only guess...
Maybe the 83kHz running during the ONIX Simulator recording made the rest of the Simulator recording look...uh...not so good...

My mistake...I thought it was your ONIX simulator...
Maybe the update included a new Simulator recording...
I do not know...
Is the swimming pool still in the Simulator with the new software...??

6.830 on the 999 has no 83khz simulator

Like Gomer said no 83Khz - I think I had 6.680 on my 998c HD SI when I unboxed it - and it wasn't there?It could be that there never was a 83 recording,with my 998,im not for sure

NONE - my 798ci SI is @ 6.3 and it does have 83, it's "before v6.49"......
