My brother, gone fishing, caught one once on a roach he caught crawling around in the boat... I witnessed it from the back of the boat, failing to get them to even nibble on a tube jig!

But, that was the easy part, only had 2 between us and we had been dropped off for the trip so no wheels. Being desperate I took the top out of a soup can folded it in half and made an "S" shape out of it, then took a hammer and nail and made a hole in each end then took a treble hook and attached to the rear and my fishing line tied in front and actually caught a couple of slabs on it!!!! What ever it takes, right? <*{{{{<<

actually, that is not strange to me.....back in the 50's....when I was a teenager....we actually bought roaches for bait....had to be the wingless kind tho......we would sometimes put out roach traps around the house and catch the ones that had wings....then my Dad would cut the wings off because the roach would not sink.....still worked....caught everything.....but boy, did they stink.....and when one got loose in the boat...look out....not fun when it crawls up your leg....but, all that was normal to us back then.....oh, we also used worms, crickets and shiners....

And that's where I draw the line..... I'd fight wasp off their nest to get to the larva before I tangle with a roach....

    x a million

I am not scared of anything...but a dang roach. I can't even step on them and if they are on the wall above about head level where they can fly at me, I am GONE!
