Thanks for everyone's imput! What I'm seeing is the best(safest) thing to use is Perch.Now I just need to get going doing some Perch fishing or find them and cast net them up.

In sc bream are fine for bait whole or any other way as long as they are caught with hook. .redbreast and all other game fish are illegal in sc , . Nc laws haven't changed.
