After work today, I had to take the kids home from school and decided to make a quick trip to the lake for a few crappie that my dad had pin-pointed. I met up with him in my freshly rigged stick steer and he in his. I think he caught 42.. I had my eldest son, my 9 yr. old daughter on her first ever fishing trip, and my 5yr. old youngest son. We caught probably about 35 crappie in about 2 hours, my daughter catching 11 all by herself. I was having the best time ever watching them catch fish. My 5 year old was my winch man and my other two were catching on their own. I believe I have made a fisherman out of her for sure! She didn't want to quit when it got dark!I am looking forward to her going fishing with me and telling Mom and Grandmommy that she'd rather go fishing than go shopping with them....
It's rare that a fishing adventure goes so smoothly with small kids, but every once in a while cosmic forces come together. Here's a pic of my prize fishing partner and one of her nicer fish. If you look closely, you can almost see a proud dad's smile peeking around the side of the lens.......
Big bro was just a little jealous!
