Feeling "Snake Bit"
I am getting to feel "snake bit"
Two (2) in row on pre-fish, thought i had
finally found "mother load" had them
figured out..........."
"OVER CONFIDENCE",
Crescent Lke 3/8 - Friday pre-fish,
found them - weighed 7 - 12lbs 3 oz
Put them under 20 lbs ice, went to
dinner and said nothing.........Saturday
couldn't find a thing but 1 bluefill, 2 warmouths & 3 dinks (3 oz being the biggest)
Kissimmee: prefish Friday..........
Single pole jigging lilly's - quit 1 pm
5 fish - 7 lbs 2 oz. Saturday --
nothing in lilly's - grass lines - hydrillia
long-lined 6 - 7 & 8 ft contours looking
for where they may have gone deep...
1spec. 15.5 oz..............
Have got appointment with "Voo-Doo"
lady on Wednesday - as back up found
Witch Doctor in Lake Wales that guarantee's me help.
Attached is Friday's pre-fish -
Winner of tournament was 5 lbs 1`4.0 oz
Weather played big role to all who fished.
Last year it took 10 lbs plus in may to win
Same held true with Crescent - Friday was reasonably good - Cold front came
in and pressure when high out of site..
they moved - couldn't find them shallow,
in brush, down timber, water depths of
2 - 4 - 8 - 16 & 23' holes - nothing
13 lbs 13 oz won event......Some teams
found them.
Boo-hoo, Boo-hoo, I'm done venting
now, thanks..

Bad juji to keep prefish catch day before tournament. Voodoo queen will tellya that first thing.

You may be right on that one Mike, however, have been checking to see what they
are eating and how far developed on spawn rate........
But you are no doubt correct. Also, have to learn how to locate fish just after
a cold front or during cold front commin thorugh. Most of time they will not stray
to far from where you found them feeding. They may go out a little deeper and
suspend or if near spawn mark - stay again close in deeper water to
what was their prep spawning location.............Both these cases - nothing was
found.

that's fishing in spring every day is different voodoo queen is best solution take one out with you

Was a tough going, but fun nonetheless...
Harold I won't even tell you what I pulled out of my little lake this morning on a quick outting with the girls...too soon lol
A man remembered never dies.

Good idea on the Voo-Doo lady going with me.
I really felt bad after i invited Tundra to go along with me on tournament........
Talk about looking stupid........asshamed of myself.....(so sorry Nate)............
than ran out of power with trolling motor.......with Oct & Nov new batteries onboard,
charger was giving false reading - Quest checking this out now.
Have won this tournament 4 out of 5 years.................couldn't even make
weigh in this year.....................Bad snake bite...................
Had one of group tell me to throw all fish back on Friday so Gods will let me have
others on Saturday.
Another thought: hold tournaments on Friday.............
Best answer and best is: Learn what to do when a cold front comes in or your caught
in a cold front..............Practice working / fishing in and on cold fronts in various
lakes.

I feel your pain brother. I had stopped pre fishing past lunch the day before a tournament before I quit fishing them. Was the time of day the same? I caught 3 fish over 2 pounds one Friday before a Talquin tournament on one ledge. I came back tourney morning and only 1.25 fish. After weigh in my partners wife wanted to catch some so we checked that same ledge about the same time of day and wham! We weighed our best 7 that night and wound have won by over 2 pounds. I have story after story from catching fish the day before a tourney. I caught a 2 pound 14 ounce crappie at Pickwick on Friday before a Regional one time, watched them give a Ranger Cherokee boat to the big fish winner on Saturday for a 2.4 something fish. Not to mention the lake was dropped overnight so fast there were dead fish on banks. It's just the tournament monster sometimes.
