I had that happen several times

Had to reel it all the way up each time to reset the knot to the rear of the jig eye to set level again. When a good hook set was made you could see a good steady yellow line come back to the boat. Best video game I ever had

slabback,on many hooks,you can bend the eye of the hook back toward the point and it will stay level,don't know what kind of jig you have,weather the eye sticks up any from the lead
