    Default MG Xi5 observations

First time out with my friend testing new Xi5. Anchor mode held boat within 2 feet of spot in wind 8-12 mph and gusting to 20. Motor turns fast and is very quiet with no vibration. Motor head and shaft is sturdy and appears well built. Does everything described. Down side is remote hand control has no display where MKs does have display. MG function display is on base of motor bracket. MG stores and track more routes than MK
Lot of money for either brand but I was very impressed with the anchor mode holding so close and how little power was pulled after 7 hours of almost constant use. MGs is a new model but the technology isn't new. I think either brand would be great and is a matter of personal choice.

Motor deployment is easy, release and give it a lift and help control it without much effort. Retrieval is more difficult as you need to guide shaft and head through motor head. It is very similar to my MK Power Drive. This Xi5 55 pound thrust was mounted on a 18 foot custom made aluminum boat with aluminum fishing decks and double floor. (Made to hunt or fish)

Got mine installed....Have yet to have the chance to use it...From what I've noticed so far one thing is certain, for being wireless there is no lag between the motor and foot control (or hand control remote) that I can tell, also it's quiet! Possibly the quietest troller I've ever heard....Cant wait!
