So who wants to show a new guy the ropes? This weekend I am busy with family stuff but would really like to get out next weekend and get out on the water. Most of my crappie fishing experience has been off the dock with minnows dropping straight down, so I guess I am a bit green on experience.
I live in Vinita and would be more than happy to do the driving or towing if necessary. And that reminds me, I need to put my crappie.com sticker on my truck!

I would take that offer if you can Dyabolical. Reaper is always a pleasure to fish with. I'm already looking forward to our annual fishing trip in May![]()

I've been fishing with minnows straight down off the dock for 30 years. I wouldn't consider myself green - I've caught a lot of crappie that way and quite enjoy it. I can set my rods on the dock, sit in a comfy chair and have a few cold ones. When the fish bite, I set my cold one down, reach down and grab the rod and set the hook. Then I reel the fish in. If I'm feeling really lazy, I put a piece of 6" PVC pipe down into the top of the fish basket and strap it to a pole. Then I just let the fish slide down into the basket without having to pull the basket up. I don't work hard at this stuff.
OK Toon....we have to have a picture of that operation......sounds better than spyder-rigging.....
