The scales were calibrated prior to the start of this fishing year. Reese is going to have them rechecked and CERTIFIED. Please drop this for now.

Interesting this was brought up as I weighed a fish this weekend on mine and Greg's personal scales and mine weighed the fish at 2.09 and his was 2.11 while the official scale was 2.2lbs. Really didn't matter as everyone's weights were then of +\- the same weight. Good to realize that there are differences in scales. If mine ever weighs a crappie and says its more than three lbs a replica is going on my wall. Y'all caught some real nice fish no matter what they weighed and by the looks of it had a good time and fellowship.
I don't know what could be explained, y'all have beaten this horse to death. Any mechanical device can become defective. Maybe the scales have gotten off, maybe not, I'm sure they will be checked by the next tourney. The weigh master did the right thing by continuing to weigh everyone's fish on the same scales. What else could he have done? That's the only way the weigh-in would be fair for everyone. This is only a small fruit jar tourney for fun and bragging rights, the way some folks are acting you would think it was The Bass Masters Classic. Remember lots of folks look at this site and we all would like to see the tourneys grow, but who's gonna jump in if all they see is a bunch of bickering at each event? I for one have heard enough of that kinda stuff lately.

Everyone used the same scale. No need to beat a dead horse. Recalibrate for next time, it'll all be good. Please don't take this thread south. Thanks everyone. I'll miss you all at Spring camp.
Great job to everyone who helps coordinate these tournaments. I am very thankful and appreciative of all the work yall put into the fruit jars. I look forward to the next one in April!
If slab wont close this thread I might if the bickering continues. Now like slab said "DON'T TAKE IT SOUTH!!!"

wow!! Really? Why the bickering?? It's supposed to be a fun outing and nothing more. If you wanna be serious try fishing the semi or pro circuit

The directors have a tough and thankless job. They all deserve our gratitude.
