    Default New depthfinder

I am going to have to purchase a new depthfinder pretty quick so I was going to get yall's advise first. I don't need any si or anything like although I wouldn't mind di. The lakes I fish I am usually pretty familiar with so really all I need is depth and water temp. I had a cheap eagle on my boat now but the transducer has broke off the bottom of trooling motor. I have been jb welding it back on but it keeps breaking.
    Thanks

I'd go ahead and get a unit with map and GPS. Tuesday when Steve and I fished Okatibbee, it was still so foggy at 1:00 PM I had to use my map and follow my trail out of Collinsville Landing to make it back. Being able to mark way points is very important also.

Yep, don't want to be without GPS myself. Got a used one in great shape if you are interested.

Brian, I bought the HB 859ci HD DI. I love it! Can't wait to hook my new Terrova up to it next. This thing for the price is top if the line for this not so tech savy person.

You can easilly get into more electronics than you need with some of these guys. If you like technology, by all means, enjoy the high end units with all the bells and whistles, but if you are looking for depth and water temperature, and maybe DI, and you are on a budget like me, I really like my Lowrance Elite units. I have an Elite 5 DSI and an Elite 7 HDI, and for the money, they are spot on.....

Any yes, I know that there are a lot of "better, more expensive" units out there......
