What the line do y'all prefer braid or flur. For vertical jigging

My favorite is Berkley Vanish Flourocarbon in 8 lb test. It is limp clear and strong .

I like the Ozark 10-11 footers/Rear seated. or the B&M Sam Heaton. My first choice of these is the Ozark 10 foot rear seat. The 10 footer is the lightest, most sensitive, and toughest rod you will ever put into your hand, that Tip on a Ozark is made to go down and punch that jig out of snags. The design on the Sam Heaton and sensitivity with the blank touching your hand at the grip is Awesome!!!. Any of these rods are a good pick you will not be disappointed in. I use Mr Crappie clear 8lb test which has one of the strongest breaking strengths/Mono for diameter size out there for the money also. Good Luck on whatever you chose.

I don't feel it takes a high buck pole to catch crappie, being a vertical jigger I do like most of the b&m poles, with med action. Some big mouth crappie pro( what ever that means) tried to tell me it take a high buck pole, outlaw pole an he will catch 5 to my one with a crappie master from B&M. That's a lot of BS. it depends on how well you know the lake , that makes all the difference not the pole.

I have a good friend, have known him for 45 years, he has fished high end G- Loomis and St.Croix rods and now just walks into Wally world and buys a cheap combo, fishes it until it takes a dump, then goes and gets another! And he is capable of smoking most fishermen on the lake! ( That last statement is quite opionated, I don't have any actual data or hard numbers to support it! It was given purely to substantiate my feeling that it truly doesn't take a high $ rod to be a successful angler.) I enjoy both expensive gear and entry level items. Its what this journey can be about!
Most men spend their entire life fishing, without realizing its not the fish they are after!

Which of those wohali rods would you recommend for vertical jigging?
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

I can catch crappie with a cane pole. Difference comes from weight and sensitivity. Good rod/reel will make for more comfortable, less tiring day.

Vertical jigging how do you use these Ozark poles?? Are you trolling in shallow places bumping around tree tops in the spawn or April/may?? Do you vertical jig in deep water say 20ft or just shallow water also what kind of reel do you use ??
