Here's another old fly reel I picked up a long time ago, anybody know anything about it?its all ceramic or type of composite material, it's heavy and doesn't have a drag so I don't care to use it, just thought it was neat looking.

One of my customers who know I fish recently gave me a couple old fly rods. One is a Browning the other a Daiwa, I already had a couple old Martin reels and also a Pflueger. I also already had a Cabelas combo which I liked except for the reel. So now I'm gonna pair the Cabela rod with the Pflueger reel, and got the Martins on the others. Got them all cleaned and ready for some bluegill action. I guess I will have one for floating poppers, one for sinking flies, and one for live bait. Not bad since I have virtually no money in any of these. Can't wait for some bluegill action.![]()

I do too John, I'm not a fly rod purist by any means, but I can put a bug above a breams head if I want to. I would be afraid to fish with an expensive rig, but you can sure have fun with these old elcheapo's. I say I'm gonna go trout fishing in Arkansas every year, but haven't made it yet. Maybe a couple folks on here would be willing to take a trip and try something different, or maybe someone who has experience can point a poboy in the right direction.

If you want to know about trout fishing I can set you straight--I've actually done more fly fishing for trout than crappie fishing--shhh don't tell anybody
Had a cabin at Possum Hollar for quite a few years up until about 2008. Before I had that I lived in Batesville AR and went about every weekend--it is very calming.
Those are some nice Rods for the money. Got a old Browning glass rod I bought at flea market when I lived in Reno Nv. Did some trout fishing with it. Pretty good Bream rod. Never seen a reel like that one Feesh. I'd sure put it up just for a display piece though.
