Just dabbling a little on Crappie cranks!!! Trying to make my own crappie crank colors and sizes!! Most crappie cranks or 2 1/2 - 3 in long!!!! dive 8-10'. Buy the wood blocks, basswood, cedar also buy some plastic unpainted bodies from tackle ( lurepartsonline)(local cabinet shops!! not trying to sell or advertise!! The trick is making the bait run true!!! On our lakes in the summer time crappie fishing is out.Creek has opened our eyes to crappie cranking in the summer (thinking outside the box!!! Thought I would try making our own crappie cranks!! Learning curve on taking pics of baits (all sides)3D effect!!!

Buy or get the block of wood!!bass, balsa, cedar, pine!!! or you can buy the blanks(lurepartsonline) Draw the bait out or trace around the bait!!!the sky is the limit!!! Lots, lots of sanding!! cut out slot for bill!! a white coat of paint base paint!! after that their are all kinds of stick on or spray paint, markers(blick markers) Just a can of walmart spray paint is all that is needed!!! Then we use liguid hard as nails for the shine and then added eyes super glue lots of it!! The rings, hooks test run (run true)!!! takes a lot of time!!! Mr CE pressley and Have a friend in springfield Missiouri that got me started!!! Still learning!!! Lots of other sites on the web(not advertising)!!! SIR!!! cannot decide if wood or plastic would be better for crappie cranks!!!

Love the closest one hanging and the one above it on the rocks. I don't know about those colors for crappie, but I know for sure I could catch some Toledo Bend bass on them. Great work.

Man I don't know how you take a block of wood, cut it down to a bait and then it run true, would think that a tuff thing to do for sure. Thankfully I would know where to start, LOL!
