    Here are the current IGFA and AGFC current record holders for a white and black crappie. Like it or not? This is what you got to beat to go down into Crappie Fishing Folk Lore HISTORY!!!

    Fish waters known for big fish in the southern states...look for waters in out of the way places, back waters of rivers, coves and creeks tributary's in big fish lakes, and use large presentations. Your really talking a different fish when talking a 5 lb crappie. Realize that you stand a better chance of winning the lottery..so luck is a big factor when trying to catch a record.

    I think its funny the largest crappie ever caught was caught in late July. just think how much it would weigh full of eggs. The Ark black was also caught in the first week of June. And I cant believe one of you ain't broke the 4.7 lb white record for the state of Arkansas. For Shame...For Shame HAHA...

    They are out there or will be . My desceased uncle caught one years ago in a illegal wire basket trap from Bayou Meto that was over 5 lbs from stories he told. He kept traps in there to feed his family , his farm was on the Bayou.
