    Default Glitter teardrop ice jigs

Went to my workshop today and handcrafted some more glitter teardrop ice fishing jigs. They will also work as well in soft water as in hard water. Sizes are #8 , #6 and #4 hooks

#8 is 1/64 ounce; #6 is 1/32 ounce; and #4 is 1/16th ounce. People in Pennsylvania and Ohio swear by them. These are Crappie, Shellcracker, White Bass and Bluegill getters when tipped with a wax worm.

The glitter worked well for me this summer and will try the lures this hard water season. I used the silver and gold glitter so far.

    Ship those are lookin' good.

Do you ever leave one side unpainted? Folk up here leave one side unpainted polished for the Flash.

My goto is an orange round head with a white/ black eye, that is unpainted polished on one side.

The other one I like is a 50/50 bright yellow/green with a little red tinsel tied at the bottom.
Wishing you Blue Skies and Tight Lines

I always leave the nickle side as is to get the flash. After you solder and paint the lures, let them dry. Later you can coat them with aquarium cement and coat them with the glitter. Makes the glitter adhere better in the water.

Ship - another thing I like to do is use silver or gold glitter fingernail polish on the soldered side. More so on the bigger spoons than the teardrops though. Perch and walleye seem to be attracted just a little more sometimes.

Bobo...you said "I believe it is better to be in the woods on Sunday thinking about God, than in a church on Sunday thinking about the woods. " I will be the one in church thanking God that I can go to the woods and water on the other days of the week.
