You're right about the daiwa. Mine are heavy, but they are smooth and no issues. The older Abu cardinal I have is light and super smooth. Picking a pfleuger I would buy the president.

I have several Shimano Sahara 1000FE's and really enjoy them on 5'-6" Wally Marshall Signature Series rods.

The President 6920 which is the smallest of the Presidents and has 7 bearings as opposed to 10 in the others, weighs 5.9 oz. The 6925 is 7.2 and is my choice, but I have a 6920 and a 6930 also. All are good reels.

I really like my Shimano Symetres and also my Sahara. I also like my Abu Garcia Cardinal C101 it handled a 20#+ Flathead catfish on 4# line from the bank. It only took twenty five minutes.
