Tin gets my vote.I have a 18'86" polarkraft with a 90 yamaha. I bought it new 4 years ago and LOVE it! she's wide enough to be real stable with a bowfishing platform, but narrow enough to weave around the stickups at twain. 2 guys can fish side by side in the front or back of the boat. also, she dont need but about 2.5 ft of water to float, which was a must for catching catfish bait on the mo river. she pulls nice too, my 6 cylinder explorer easily does the job.
my last boat was a 16.5" monarch, aluminum semi-v. real narrow and all the rivets were starting to leak. stay away from riveted boats, IMO. also, no matter what you choose to fish from, have a trolling motor that has twice the battery and power you need. I run a 75lb motorguide wireless 24v with 2 optima batteries and I have never ran out of juice in one day of trolling. oh, yeah, I almost forgot, I learned real quick with my last boat that carpet is for livingrooms! not fishing boats and definataly not for a catfish boat. LMAO! my new boat has a camo rubber surface. just pressure wash it out a few times a year!
