It's rigged up good! Still, you're going to find that the sun will get to ya most of the day. Mine is 9' and still don't have shade for the entire day.

    Question (serious)
Will the wind catch those and flip the boat?

Might tip a canoe, but not a boat.

If I can remember to take a pic of it....I have 3 seat pedestal bases on my front deck. I made a holder out of a piece of galvanized fence post about 3 ft. long and welded a 3/4 inch bolt in the bottom of it. It really turned out sweeeeet. You screw the holder into the seat pedestal base, just like you would a seat and I use a 6' patio umbrella in it...drilled hole to run a clevis pin thru...painted holder to match the boat and it really looks pretty sleek....I aint a self made handy person buttttt....I was pleased

    Looks good G.

Did you put a cap on the bottom of it to keep the umbrella post from digging into your carpet?

I do have a cap on the bottom....my umbrellas do not have posts...there is just a handle about 6 or 7 inches long that goes down in the posts and I have a safety rigged up so the wind cannot pull them out.

Good deal, I made some like those but the umbrellas I have had post so they go down to the floor.

You may want to drill a hole in the bottom so they fill up with water if the boat is out in the rain?
