Originally being from WI I like to keep up with what is going on there. Last night I was on lake-link.com reading a thread about trolling/position fishing. I just can't understand why the WI DNR is against trolling on most bodies of water in the State. I have looked at some of the regs and know it is allowed on some lakes, but most are off limits to trolling. The position fishing they talk about appears to leave so much room for interpretation by a ranger that it doesn't even seem worth taking a chance, especially since fines can range from a couple hundred bucks to over two thousand. Are there any organizations up there fighting this to get it changed? What reason does the DNR give for making trolling off limits? I could understand limiting the number of lines while trolling, but to prevent it all together doesn't make sense to me.
