No problem! We get cabin fever here in WI as well, but at least we are closer to the lakes so we know what the weather is like. Being a bit more south, like you are, I could easily see how it's in the 70's & 80's there and you get cabin fever bad, only to be shocked to find snow and ice here. LOL
The temps haven't been too bad. Yesterday and today are in the 70s, but it's been 50s & 60s previous, and even freezing overnight yet a few times. Water is still cold. That lake in the pic, the highest we saw all day was 57. That lake is 45 feet deep at the deepest point we found. Yesterday I fished a lake that has an 8 foot deep hole, but is otherwise 4-5 feet deep, and the water was still only 62.
Depending on the lake, I'm thinking it's going to be anywhere from 2-4 weeks before season really gets going around here. There is no new weed growth, and the pads were just starting to come up on the lake yesterday. The lake that was high last weekend - not a single pad or weed in sight yet. Caught them all on submerged timber. Supposed to be thunderstorms all this weekend, so coming up on your first two days would be shot anyway, and then it'd be chocolate milk for another day or two after that yet, depending on the lake.
As for the Covid nonsense.... Our supreme court told the governor he is an idiot, and struck down his BS and allowed everyone to reopen. But they haven't. Driving home last weekend, the only way we could get food yet was via takeout, and I had little interest in trying to eat in the truck while towing home in the rain. It's nonsense, for sure. If you do end up coming, I'd plan on not going out to eat - at all - and cooking all your own meals. Some bars are open and might be serving food if you can live on burgers and onion rings for a week. LOL
