Trust me i know the difference between a perch and a char.
I went to the pond last night to try my luck in moderate to high winds, and i caught 5 perch ranging from 8" to 11" and a surprise black crappie 12" long!
Sure do appreciate being allowed to fish there. (by the way there are no trout or char,or brookies in this pond, although it is a former gravel pit around 90' deep or so.) so it could hold trout in it if they were stocked. There is a large population of big large mouth bass in this pond and they were jumping last night with regularity, i will try top water this weekend.
By the way all of these fish are caught on crawlers or meal worms, and if the perch are not biting, there's always a sunfish willing to keep me interested.
I know it sounds like it's to good to be true, but this lake is for real, and it has not been fished by outsiders for years, and was managed by the wdfw for awhile so thats where the different species came from.
