yeah, but then i catch no fish.LOL
Hmmmmm. Fish where theres more bigger fish.lol. Even i cant catch fish sometimes.Ill take five 2.5lbers to three 3lbers. Or on a good day both of those groups of fish and some dinks.
However I am horrible at this spring crappie stuff.
well i ahve not caught any crappie this spring yet either and I have tried but the bass at washington are starting to go shallow so that might be my next stop.
You got some crappie in febuary didnt you?
well yeah i did, but that was not spring i hope to go down again soon, get some more.
well thats more than most do in Feb. I probably would catch crappie but I am to preoccupied with bass . And practicing for tournaments.
when is your first one of the year?
A couple weeks, but there is a lot of practice to get patterns down ect ect before that .
you seem like a soft plastic guy, is that what you are mostly throwing, or is there some cranks, spinners, and jigs in there too?
Well I usually use search baits( grub on a jig head, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and other moving lures) to find where the fish are sittting then slow down and fish the pattern I find.(Like with a hula grub or senko or a jig). The jig will get the bigger fish but in a tournament you want several ok sized fish instead of that one big fish that you will catch on a jig.
do you know where your first tourney will be?
Bassman have you ever fished Rassmussen, right by you so I just thought you might of.
yup
May 15 for the tourney
yup. HMM a singal answer, hmm wouder if he likes the lake too. hmm do you know where your tourney is. or is it kept from ya.
The tourney is supposed to be kept from us but im sure its at lake sammamish.Rassmussen is a pain to fish its like 2.5 acres and is loaded with dinks and bluegill.
sounds like the kind of lake i might be able to catch fish in
you and me both. But we sure can catch them warmouth.LOL well if I don't say it latter I will say it now good luck Bassman, you show them how it's done.
Thanks, I went out yesterday and today and managed 6 yesterday and 2 today.Today I spotted a bunch of bass on beds in my slough. yesterday I fished Lake Alice and caught 6 cruising the shoreline.
nice, I wish I was out fishing right now or tomarrow or just about any day< I dont seem to get out that much, I have been going up to green lake with some buds because it is close to me house but only for some stockers, I need some bass, or crappie, hell I would be happy with some bluegill. Well keep it up, I will be watching you on ESPN soon.
You need to catch a tiger musky out of green when you go there .
I have seen some pics of some tigers that have come out of there, it sounds good to me, I will wait for the lilys to grow in, give them some structure.
The Lilly pads havent grown in there yet? wow theres already good patches of them on lake Sammamish and a bunch of other lakes up here.
where did you see the pics of the tiger muskie fom green lake at?
last time i went to the arboretum which was about a week ago there were'nt any lily pads either but i geuss that could have changed by now
I saw the pic at a tackle store, can't remember which one but there might have been one on washingtonlakes.com.
Bassman, where is this secret slough of yours?
ahh, nice try Bill, but bassman is a tough one to crack, believe me I have tried, and tried. Got no where with him, He is just a big Jerk. and I knw he is getting some in those sloughs.
Yah I'm the biggest jerk on this site .LOL.Kok lately its only been bass its to damn hard to catch crappie in the spring out of there. But a hint is its in between Tacoma and Arlington ...Thats all I'm saying.Someone else has been fishing it lately there was a bunch of little bobbers floating around today.Somebody was fishing MY(lol) slough.
Bill W. Your Zen leecher arent you...Dont you open your mouth cause you know where it is.I was told by several people to keep it a secret and I will get in a lot of trouble with them.
Well bassman that was more then I could ask for, I still Dont know wher it is but it gave me some idea, Hey if I find it i wont tell no one, So if you see some goofy lookin guy on (your) water it might be me.
Bassman, I was just gonna let my secret out on being the Zen Leecher. Yep. I've fished "your" slough before. If you and your friends fished that slough before 1975... then you can claim it. Otherwise.... it's mine. I'll let you know when I'm fishing it again as I'm interested in trying out some beetle spins on it and checking the size of the bass and crappie.
Chain lake (Monroe) is reputed to have crappie in it. I've never caught any there as I always targetted the trout. Wagner is a bass, perch and trout lake. I've never seen any crappie in it. I fished a private lake (no access) out of Granite Falls named Rainbow Lake that would be worth knocking on some doors for permission to fish. I only caught bass there and they were plentiful. Totem Lake has an access to it again. I caught black crappie in it years ago before the floating islands blocked off the access. Never saw anybody fish it in all the years I've lived by it. I drug a canoe in it once and hit bass and crappie on beetle spins.
Bassman, shame no one else can find "your" slough as it's right out in the open. Also, let me know which town you live in and I'll see if I can't direct you to some other local lakes. I have one good one I rarely mention.
Another local one I'd try is the one just north of Fall City... Horseshoe Lake or something. It looks promising for spiny rays.
Rutherford slough is supposed to have spiny rays in it to.I dont know how long my family has know of that slough but my grandpa is somewhere in his seventies so i dont know.Bill right now i think a bobber with a jig 4 feet below might work.I have seen bass that were 5+ this spring in it so it wintered good. the slough is right out in the open hint hint. Bill i'm in the Carnation Duvall area.
I haven't explored much in your area... but wondered about the dog training ponds over on West Snoqualmie Valley Road. Thought they'd have fish in them.
Man, that whole area is full of sloughs: http://terraserver.microsoft.com/ima...cwashington%7c
Most of those sloughs and little lakes were classed as "spiny ray" lakes. I've heard good stories from some of them.
Most of em get to warm in the summer to hold trout because theres no cold deep water.
I"ll find them! maybe, Oh i dought it.
Find what???Hey if you're seriosly interested in that slough its on that map that slabking posted. But its listed under a lake name, and you have to zoom in all the way.
