My boat is still in the shop getting the carbs rebuilt but I'm hoping to have it back soon, if not my oldest son is going to shoot me....

Were those fish suspended in open water on nothing? Or was there some structure they were suspended by? I have a hard time finding the suspended fish and I think it is because I'm not looking in the right place. I am always trying to relate fish to structure but maybe I shouldn't be. :D

There were a few very small logs on the bottom but I would say they were just suspended out in the open since they were so far up off the bottom. There's a small bay I know they will spawn in so I crisscrossed the area leading toward the bay until I found a few. I'm the same way, I'll try to find them hanging around some structure or cover but I swear these fish on the westside of the mountains can be just about anywhere most of time.

The gills where locked down tight on cover though. You had to bump the jig off wood to get them to hit. Lost a ton of jigs trying to catch those guys. I'll give it another shot on Sunday and see if they have moved into the shallows.

OK, well at least it isn't just me! :D I am hoping to have my boat back by Sunday and if so I'll be out this weekend looking for them too.
