Those bass have seen damn there every lure known to man. It can be tuff to catch a decent bass after the spawn. You'll have to fish the beds during spawn to target a monster. Sometimes you'll sit on top of the bed and pitch the lure right into it for an hour or more before one will take it. The secret to catching them after the spawn is to only fish were wood and weeds meet or out in the mid-lake underwater brush. Large Jig-n-Pigs and Perch colored crankbaits are the way to go. You can clean up on bass if you toss cranks around the points of pad fields.

Thanks Slabking that is somthing that just may put the fish in the bot this year thanks for the tip and when i said fish i ment crappies.

I think it's 8 knots but I'm not sure. It's small enough that you can get around with a decent trolling motor with no problems. Cassidy, Blueberry, Kapowsin, and back in the sand dunes of Potholes are the only lakes I've seen the crappie surface feeding. They go nuts at Blueberry for about two weeks at the begining of fall. Up at Kapowsin, the blugills and crappies school up and feed on the surface from mid-August to late Sept. Easy pickings if you like to flyfish.

I know that canal well. I'll keep my lips shut though .

nice. yeah i woork with a guide and work as a fisherman in cordova, AK and that is why i have not been able to do as much fishing during the year as i also do school so it can be tough. but it seems to be getting better as i keep hearing about the fishing right around me. just a few monts ago when i joined i found that the crappie at washington and union are still aroun. And i live 15 min. from the lounch on the ship cannal, so one day I will be able to figure them out eventualy.

yeah i sould have keept mine more shut. But it is not just the location in the canal. I remember when i went down there i turned a corner and there were 17 boats not catching anything, I went in with a different patteren an caught 4 crappie in about a half hour of work.

You'll figure them out sooner than you think. Once you find them you'll see that they never stray to far away from the same areas. A school might stay in the same 200 yard area for about 9 of the twelve months if there's a flat and a deep rock pile or drop-off near it. In Union they pretty much do the same thing every night of the year, feed under the dock lights at night, then head under the docks or to a near by deep-water rock structure.

The perch do the same thing only difference is that they tend to stay near the docks that are located in water 30' deep or more (but the dock must be lit at night). There's one place in the south end of the lake were you can catch all perch you want at night from November to April. Once you figure them out they will be in the exact same places every year.

Lake Cassidy has a 10 horse limit. I think that is what it said last time I was there.I caught some nice bass last time i was there too.
