what is it about nw facing shores that make them hold the fish? i would have guessed that south facing shores would have been best but i guess that shows how much i know. by the way i hit lake union for a little while today thowin grubs and didn't get any bass but caught a 13 inch cutt

Those cuts put up a pretty good fight though lol. The weird thing is you'll catch them with crappie jigs under overhanging brush during this time if year. I guess they follow the sticklebacks into the shallows. Once summer hits you don't catch them up shallow much. There are some really big trout in Union as well. I've never had the patience to fish for them. A slip float and worm fished in the south end does well I guess. My dad nails a few in the south end every year that are the size of a steelhead.

The wind blows from the north or NW about 80% of the time so the N & NW coves (were the bank of the cove faces north) don't get hit with all that wind and wave action so they warm up first and cool off last. If there's a good rock bottom it'll hold the heat much better than a wind blown southern shore or cove (were the bank faces south and all the wind and waves beat the shore).

Koke, just bring a tackle box and rods. I have the rest covered no worries. I'll shoot you a PM before the weekend.
