Bad News
BOYDTON, VA (WWBT) - A missing South Hill boater has been found dead in Kerr Lake outside of Boydton, Va.
Dr. William Shelton Jr., 55, was reported missing Monday.
Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office said Shelton's truck and boat trailer were found in the boat ramp's parking lot. His boat was later located several miles south of the boat ramp.
A multi-agency team was assembled to search the lake.
Divers found Shelton's body Tuesday morning in 10 feet of water.
His body has been sent to the medical examiner's office in Richmond for an autopsy.

Not sure, my daughter called me and told me about it. She said the boat was capsized but Im not sure if it was or not. Billy
Just read on the South Hill Enterprise web site that the boat had run aground and the motor was still running when found. Billy

That is sad to hear. We tend to take it for granted, but that water don't play around. 33° or 90°, it has many ways to kill us.

very Sad. I allways were a life jacket when I fish alone or when I am the only adult on the boat.
