Had another productive day on the Nottoway.
The while perch run is still going. I caugth about 20 or so white perch before I started really working my crappie pattern from last week.
I was able to catch 24 crappie 14 of which were over 10 with 5 over 12. Also added another nice shellcracker (I mean shellquacker LOL) and bluegill. All crappie came on a yellow and white curly tail jig or a yellow and white tube fished in fallen timber on the inside and outside channel bend in 15-25 ft of water. All fish were suspending at able 5ft over trees. I think that I can make this pattern work year round just moving up and down the trees. I was able to find a couple of banks that I am going to try and long or tightline next time. Fished from 0800-1400. Water temp was about 73.
I was able to meet up with Ted on the water. Always great fishing with you Ted.

nice work N A glad you were able to find some cooperating fish
Nice job. Do the Nottoway fish have worms?
2010 NWR Bash Crappie Division Champion
not that I saw in any I cleaned
Nope, but some of them will eat them.:D
Really, I've been fishing there for 22 years or so, and have never seen any of the "Red" worms like I've seen pics of from the Chick and James. I have seen those little black dot type parasites, but almost all bodies of water seem to have some fish with those in them. They usually come off with the skin.
