As of Monday, October 20, 2025, the Western Branch Reservoir Boat Ramp will be closed to the public for construction activities. This closure will be approximately six weeks. The contractor will them move to the city-only Lake Prince boat ramp for six weeks.

The current aeration system, including the aerator boxes and airlines are being removed. The large anchors modules will be left in place for fish structure. The system is being replaced with a new system that will not have any structures above the water, and should not have any exposed airlines, except in extreme drought conditions.

Access to Lake Prince will not be interrupted, but access to the area of the lake between the dam and Lake Prince Drive bridge may be restricted during certain times as the equipment is removed.

The new system will be installed in early 2026. Boat ramp closures will occur during installation.
