I've been taking advantage of the crappie spawn this week using 1/16th oz. tube jig head and 1.5 inch chartreuse mini-tail tube jigs on about a 2.5 foot, 6 lbs monofilament leader.

If you find nice shady spot or bridge during the day, just pitch it into or near the shade. Count 3 seconds, pull in the slack and reel in.

I see other guys in the mornings and evenings having success with weighted bobbers and jig about a foot and a half under the bobber. This seems to work when the sun is not so bright.
