Almost that time!
Hey everyone I was wondering when the bite will heat up? I haven’t been out since December, got me a new baby and all, but I’ve been wanting to try Chesdin and the Lower James this spring. I just found enough peanuts to scrape together for side imaging and thought I may poke around here and see if anyone was willing to hop in and show the ropes? I’m a fun guy, can fish a little, prefer long poling crappies but am always into learning something new. Live out in Powhatan County and fish out of a 17’ Lund so big water and little water mean something to me.
Anyway hoping to meet y’all at some point and scratch some fish out together.

I think it’s time to go. Lot of fish being caught at Chesdin. Pick any creek. Water has really warmed up over the last two weeks. No telling what yesterday and today will do to it. You can find them. Some are up shallow. Many holding in 5-10’ ready to move up any time. We went after work Wednesday. I was surprised how many boats were in the creeks long lining, spider rigging, tossing minnows with forks and we were just casting 1/16 jig/grubs. Everybody was catching.
What side imaging not did you get?

That sounds like a blast! I’m still low guy on totem pole and haven’t been able to free up in time to get out after work. I found me a little bit of change and ordered the Lowrance 9 Reveal with triple shot and inland maps. So once it gets in I’ll be able to see finally
