Thread: NWR 2/9

Well I did get to go out. I put in maybe 7:30 ran around a bit check in different areas and then anchored since it was windy. I was off the water or done fishing at 2:00
I did fairly well considering I think. They had a crappie tournament going on and the winner for 8 fish was over 9 pounds. I didn't play since I haven't been out there in months. I found most fish in around 10 ft to water and they would bite when the wind picked up with the clouds overhead but shut off when the sun came out. I used a mix of Darker jigs tipped with minnows. Over all I had quite a few Throwbacks but did Keep 16 mix of yellow perch and crappie all about the size here. No monsters but all in all a good day. The female perch I caught where spilling roe so they were actively spawning not just holding. Those I caught in about 5 feet.
