Thread: Mattaponi Report

One of the better days we have had in years. The YP have been there about 3 weeks. Really strong run right now, we picked up about 20. We caught dozens of crappie. All very quality fish. 2 fish under 9", the rest were between 10.5-13.5" Unbelievable. Jigs out fished minnows 3:1. Water temp was low 40's and we fished the outgoing. 3/32nd with a cajun cricket was hot, as was a pink slider. sssllloooww retrieve and THUMP! I figured out that it is best to set the hook, right before they actually bite. haha.
