I have not really noticed any difference in taste. However, I agree they tend to be a bit thicker and more "oval" shaped than their lake cousins. I haven't been on the river but once since October, but I hear they are catching a lot and the size is getting better. I just can't get myself away from rabbits and bass this year for some reason. I need to get down that way and try to get in on the action.
