Yesterday, I email VDGIF biologist Bob Greenlee and asked where else I can find perch in the James/Chick waters. Here is his reply this morning.

"Yellow perch numbers are highest in the low Chickahominy and in other tributaries of the James. Outside of the waters of the tidal Chickahominy we have very little information on where anglers go for successful yellow perch fishing in the tidal James system. Our fisheries survey data indicate creeks such as Grays Creek, Upper Chippokes Creek, Wards Creek, Powell Creek and Herring Creek, which are all tidal tributaries of the James, hold good numbers of yellow perch. Other than the Chickahominy I would recommend trying any of the tidal tributaries of the James.

Bob
