Default New to bob's fishing hole and NWR

I just checked out the place yesterday evening I didn't do any fishing yet. What's the average crappie caught here because I am wondering if it would be beneficial to prefish a few times before entering the tournaments. Also when is next year's crappie bash?

Lots of 10 and 11" fish. Some 12" can be had. You catch a 13" with a good bag of crappie could win You the tourney. Bash is usually in Feb..

Thank you for the information I have been catching a bunch of slabs on little creek base on lake bradford the biggest one I caught is my personal best at 1lb 13 oz 14 1/2 inches long. Hope to find some in the NWR that size or bigger. I have pics of my catches on fishbrain on there I'm hookedonbluegills.

Welcome aboard. Is Bradford one of the lakes on the golf course?

I have fished alot of the crappie tournaments there and we have alot of fun. We have had many days where we have caught over 70 fish. I will say i have never caught a fish in there that was 13 inches. Im sure there are some in there some where and maybe a couple that would push 14 but I have yet to see any. There are ALOT 8 to 9 inch fish. The winning tournament 8 fish weight usually averages from5 1/4lbs to 6 3/4 lbs . About the best 8 fish weigh in that ive seen is around 7 1/2 to 8lbs. Since the hurricane the fishing has really been horrible BUT I hear it is coming back so im really looking forward to this next tournament. Usually the fishing is pretty good on an average and some really good guys in the tournament , we just need to grow it some more. Please come out and fish on December 17th tournament. We blast off at 730 and fish till 200. Hope to see you there I will be in a 21' Carolina Skiff. My name is J.C.
