This is the first I have heard about this in Virginia. It was a real big deal in Maine, I was there for a month and there were big signs most everywhere and in all the free booklets. I do not change lakes/rivers very often, I stay at certain places for a good while then move to another location.
I do want to learn to fish back bay and I know it has lots of millfoil which is not wanted elsewhere so I will be on the watch to be sure I do not pick up any hitch hikers. I do not have a live well and I buy all bait (minnows)from local outlets.

Take a look at this boat trailer seen at the Burnt Mills boat ramp last week. There are aquatic plants hanging in several places. Take the time to inspect your trailer, boat, livewell and other equipment for these "hitchhikers". This is how invasive plants and animals move from lake to lake and could destroy the habitat you enjoy.
