Nice looking fish. Early spring shallow water fish seem to move around allot more than they do a few weeks from now. Good to see you were able to find some.

Nice fish! Glad to see some good ones survived the epic bridge piling free for all last fall. Hopefully they stay shallow this weekend so I can try and imitate your success.

How does the grass look? A year or two ago when the lake was full, there was grass in most of the creeks and coves. When does it the grass usually come back. And do they go in the creeks with all that grass to spawn? Not that familiar with the lake yet.

No grass yet but it's early, it usually shows up around June. There is a lot of weeds that grew during the low waters and you cant fish a lot of the spots that you did prior to the low water. Some places I fish had weeds 4' high in 5' to 6' water so the weeds are just under the surface and you cant fish there without getting hung up. Did not mark many fish so I don't know where they are schooled up, I didn't even catch a gar and that's unusual.

Thanks anchor man. Really love DR. Just need more time to learn some places to fish as the seasons change. My best luck there was with some guidance from woodduck. I love shallow water fishing but it havent figured it out at DR. Im usually somewhere else this time of year. I like too find at least one new place to fish each year.
