Thisi past sunday, about the time most folks are getting out of bed yours truly was unloading his kayak at a small impoundment around charlottesville Va. As always i threw out a couple baits while paddling down to my favorite haunts. About hundred yards from the launch I picked up a nice crappie in a "new spot". I usually know roughly how much line I have out so I doubled back and turned on my depthfinder. An electronic search turned up a previously overlooked and today at least, an occupied brush pile. The next three hours without moving more thean 50 feet in any direction, i caught and released 8 to 10 nice crappie, a couple of bluegills and a few green carp also known as largemouth bass. Overall, not a John Wayne day but a whole lot of fun. Fish more!
