I managed to get my dad out for a few hours today. The bite wasn't real hot for us, but it made up for it in size.

We we fished stump fields, way high in the water column, 18" deep in 9-15 FOW. I couldn't really find one color they preferred, kind of caught them on everything. Water temp was 73* and reasonably clear considering the monsoon we had on Monday.

I guess we had 25 or so, no "small" ones, with most being 12-13" and 2 topping 16". We kept a few for dinner and let the big ones go...got to keep the good genetics going.

Its funny, when I caught my first crappie citation, someone said that the first one is the hardest. They were right. It took 34 years to catch the first one, and I've caught 7 this year.
