I went fishing last Sunday, November 30, at Northwest River. The water temperature was 45 degrees, and the color was about half-stained.

I started fishing around 7 am, and the fish were nice enough to cooperate. I was trying to stay in 8’ of water with my baits, jig and minnow combo, at 6’ deep. By the time I quit at noon, I had boated 23 crappie, 1 pickerel, 1 good-sized bream, and a (dag-nabbit!) Grendel.

I threw back 7 crappie and kept fourteen. It was probably my best day, size-wise, for the Northwest River. I had six that were over 12 ", with the biggest at 13". Cajun Cricket was their second-favorite color.

Here is what I took home for dinners:

The river was pretty empty. I only saw about five other boats…including that ole’ fish-head who always catches more/better fish…JimB:

Good luck, everyone.
