It's a river... the water was a little muddy... I lost a brown that I estimated to be around 8 or 9 lbs... I saw it really good since it jumped 6 times... lol get your heart pounding on 4 lb and some river current... he didn't break me off but when he started rolling he threw it... oh well... ps always wanted to fish moomaw

Nice catch Vacrappieman, what fly did you take them on? I have caught some browns out west in the Big Horn river that went 25" 26" and weighted 5 to 6 lbs.

I cheated these came off night crawler lol... The water still has some color from all the rain... I'd say those trout out west had some beautiful color to them.

They sure do have great looking colors and they are all native, no stocked trout. Where those two natives or stocked fish?

They are stocked trout... They have a trout rodeo every year and they are left overs from the rodeo... They stock 1000 lbs and a lot are never caught... They are really finicky and they see a lot of pressure... The brown I hooked wasn't stocked this year he was to big and I think it's been atleast 4 years since they stocked browns so it might have been from then... Pretty neat tho this year they put in browns brookies rainbows and golden trout... I saw a few gold ones last Sunday but those suckers are super finicky... The river I'm fishing does have quite a few natives in it also... That brown could have been one of those too which I'll probably never know lol... I've caught browns up to 19" (natives from that river) and rainbows up to 25"... I've caught a few bigger browns but none over 19" there

I meant to add that those trout are stocked in around a 2 to 3 mile stretch... I didn't get to fish rodeo this year since I was on my honeymoon but my dad fished it and had a good time
